Financial Advising Services

Financial Literacy Programs

Most people aren’t taught about how money actually works—whether at school or at home. That knowledge gap has real consequences, and the team at Rise North Capital is addressing it. For them, financial literacy is a core part of their mission.

Rise North Capital is offering practical money education directly to the people who need it most—youth, families, and anyone else who needs help, at whatever stage of their money journey they’re in. The team is offering free, public workshops and hands-on community programs to make education about money accessible, approachable, and actually useful, rather than hidden behind buzzwords or locked behind a paywall.

Building Financially Confident Communities

Smart money management shouldn’t be a privilege. Whether someone is a college student figuring out their first budget or a parent thinking about what kind of foundation to leave behind, the fundamentals matter more than most people realize.

Rise North Capital’s community workshops are free to attend and open to the public, with the goal of meeting people where they are now—no prior knowledge needed. Anyone who comes along just needs to bring their willingness to learn.

What You’ll Learn

Rise North Capital’s workshops teach real-world personal finance skills that actually make a difference day to day:

  • Budgeting Basics: Understanding where your money goes is step one. Participants learn how to track income and expenses in a way that’s sustainable, not suffocating.
  • Debt & Credit: Credit isn’t inherently the enemy, but without a strategy, it can feel like one. These sessions walk through practical approaches to building healthy credit and reducing pressure over time.
  • Saving & Protection: Emergency funds, intergenerational wealth, protection strategies. The kind of stuff that feels abstract until you actually need it.
  • Investing: Long-term wealth doesn’t happen by accident. The workshops introduce foundational investing concepts, making the idea of building for the future feel a lot less intimidating than it sounds.

Money@Work

In the spring of 2026, Rise North Capital and the Legacy Economic Development Corporation brought “Money@Work for Kids” to Springfield, Massachusetts, a hands-on financial literacy workshop designed for children and their parents, held at 1666 Main St.

The concept is simple, but the impact runs deep. Kids learn through play and activity, not lectures. Things really start to click when parents are in the room and studying right alongside. The workshop covered the value of saving, the basics of budgeting, and one of the most powerful ideas in personal finance, compound growth. The “magic” of watching small, consistent contributions grow over time is the kind of lesson that tends to stay with a kid long after the workshop ends.

Early introduction to money concepts can be life-changing. Programs like Money@Work exist because the best time to build a healthy relationship with money is before unhelpful habits have a chance to take root.
